Smiling Buddy!

Learning Technology.....

Ok... one part of preparations is how to manage our individual impressions and share them with the rest of the world. Or at least friends and family. Besides my very own and personal blog there will be the official IBM CSC blog - but no matter what, both streams require input.

One good part in being a frequent traveller and collecting all kinds of hotelpoints, bonuspoints and whatsoever stuff you get is: sometimes it is for a good use. My travel has enabled me to go for a iPod nano with video option. That way I will not only be able to post pictures but small vid clips as well.

Today is the premiere feature: my "Smiling buddy" on my office desk.
If somebody is interested in knowing more about these little fellows, let me now. Enjoy!

Ni hao - or my first Mandarin lessons....

Oh holy.... chinese language is somehow difficult. At least for me right now. To prepare my stay in Shijiazhuang better I try learn some language basics. Somehow this reminds me of learning finnish language a few years ago. But I am a little more optimistic about getting the basic vocabulary in my head by May 04 - the day when I leave my home.

I still haven't decided if I want to go on with this blog in english or german. Most of my followers will probably speak german -> my family! ;-) So it might happen in the near future that I'll switch to german language. Pls don't be mad at me if it happens.

Starting the blog...

Ok. It is still some time left till I will head off for my China CSC assignment but I am getting more excited any day. And I do learn more about China every single day. Yesterday I ordered a copy of the "Lonely Planet" travel guide for China. Unfortunately the latest issue will be in german bookstores by May 1st (which is a german holiday!) but I do hope that it will arrive on time.
My other challenge is to find the right gifts to take along since gifts will be a thing to consider seriously. Not to bribe but still look good and useful.
In the next few days I'll have to learn and check how to upload a video to this blog. So hopefully you can expect not only photos but little videos as well.
